This was a group project done in my second year of university. The aim was to help local refugee charity, Action Foundation (Newcastle), gain donations and supplies they needed. We came up with the campaign Take Someone Under Your Wing.
Through research we gathered vital facts about asylum seekrs and how to better engage the public in order to grab attention and achieve the outcome Action Foundation needed. The visual driver helped us to visualise the charity and the way it needed to be portrayed to the public; kind, caring and helpful.
The logo we used for this campaign used the 'T' to mimick the Angel of the North, a pinacle monument of Action Foundations home.
We felt it was important to get the stories of asylum seekers across, to help the public understand what they go through to have a 'normal' life. Including a full story wouldn't work effectively as not many people would stand and read a poster full of writing. To create a poster incorporating the stories without being lengthy, we created a shiloutte of the person behind each story using their words, whilst only highlighting the most important.
