Ascend, has been inspired by the announcement of climbing sports entering the 2020 Olympics, and how this news has empowered people to push themselves out of their comfort zones, exploring new journeys. The current technology that is being developed for knitted sportswear encouraged the aesthetics of the project, creating a sports luxe collection that can be worn for any occasion. By diverting away from smaller gauge knitting, the project focuses on the detail in the stitch; something that can often be lost in knitted sportswear. The collection focuses on texture, and its relationship with the incorporation of eyelets, rope and hoops. It explores how this collaboration, effects the materials movement and drape on the body.
