Asmara is a bone conduction headset that delivers ASMR sounds to help reduce stress and anxiety in teens. The product is aimed at 14-18 year old girls who are under immense pressure to perform in new type of GCSE’s and A-Levels. ASMR (Auto Sensory Median Response) has been taking the internet by storm for its relaxing properties. Listeners describe feeling a full body relaxation when listening to the sounds sending them into a clam state. It is also sensation that the internet has discovered before science, as there are very little studies into the area, but they have found that in some cases ASMR has lowered heart rate more than music therapy meaning that with further development it could have the potential become a new type of therapy. Asmara uses bone conduction to deliver ASMR, the sound is converted into vibrations and travel through the skull to the cochlea so that the user can hear the sounds but their ears are left open to their environment, meaning they do not have to completely shut themselves off in order to feel relaxed, perfect for a study environment. The device is can be set up and pre-programmed through an app so that the user does not have to use their phone to listen, as phones can often be a cause of stress or distraction. Simply using the touch controls on the device activates the sounds. Asmara aims to help support relaxation in stressed out teens.
