Bees, Trees, & Factories

Final Major Project - BA (Hons) Product and Furniture Design. Bees, Trees, & Factories is an educational, environmental game for children aged 7-11 years. Inspired by the youth climate strikes and lack of environmental teaching resources available, this game supports teachers and parents in their delivery of environmental education. Within the last 18 months, youth groups such as Fridays for Future, Youth Strike for Climate and UKSCN have led the public in protest against the lack of responsive environmental action within the UK. With 68% of students wanting to learn more about environmental issues, and 75% of teachers feeling they have not received adequate training to educate students about climate change, there is evident demand for educational reform from learners and educators alike. Realised using CAD modelling and rendering techniques, Bees, Trees, & Factories engages children with a range of environmental topics through a challenging and entertaining balancing game, accompanied by colourful, informative, playing cards.
