Exploratory project focused on improving the working environment, and its impact on the mental health of the workforce. Research Through a series of interviews and discussions with those in the workplace, there were a few points. The main points of dissatisfaction and negative views of the workplace revolved around unwanted distractions, lack of privacy and uninspiring spaces to work. Solution A table mat design which could be folded in a variety of ways to help create new spaces for privacy, focus and collaboration. The table mats used several colour systems that helped to bring in a new sense of life to the workplace. Colour was used to help influence a range of emotions, with blue tones provoking a sense of calm, whilst others a sense of energy and excitement.
