Body Armature: Engaging a Viewer with the Subject

  • Lauren McNicoll
Designing a figurative body armature that acts as an extension of the self. This becomes a bridging device between the idea of the self and it’s external reality, in turn creating a connection between ‘the self’ of the subject and ‘the self’ of the viewer.
The articulated elements of the contraption allow for both horizontal and rotational movement of the body-formed components. In turn, each mould can de adjusted to the exact positioning necessary to support the body in the correct position as established from previous research.
