Carp. Christmas Card

  • Anna Dauenhauer

The task of this student project was to create a folded, two-sided A5 Christmas Card, using the elements and grid presented beneath. The card was later on printed with gold and silver paint, using a serigraph printing technique. My card presents a carp, which is a traditional polish dish during Christmas Eve feast. On the face of the card there is a half of the fish that is still alive. On the reverse there is only a skeleton left. It depicts the time before and after Christmas. Also it is a form of a protest against awful treatment of these animals during Christmas razzle-dazzle in Poland. Project was done in 2017 and it was supervised in Spacial Graphics and Poster Studio at the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz, Poland.
