Clip Events

Clip Events is a platform for event management. This web app brings admins, clients and staff together on one website. Events can be managed more easily.

My Objective

To design a seamless experience, I listened to the current pain points voiced by many event managers who had to deal with their previous poorly designed system. They lost track of their work almost every time they tried to navigate the site and every task they had to perform was described as ‘time consuming’.

I wanted to solve this problem so I designed a web app that was quick and easy for the admin and staff members to use in order to create a successful event.

My role: Lead UI/UX Designer (research, visual design, project manager)

Project length: 1 year
Research

I identified the trends that set the standard in the event planning sector. I also needed to uncover the needs and frustrations of the target user to ease the event creation process.
Research Goals
1. Define the standard for event planning platforms
2. Learn about popular planning apps on the market
3. Understand how businesses and clients use these platforms with their staff
4. Identify typical behaviours of businesses and clients when planning events
5. Define common behaviours of staff applying to work the events
6. Determine the user needs and frustrations when planning and applying to events
7. Identify areas of the event planning platforms that could be improved
User flow and site map

Each task or action was contained within the suitable page. I redesigned the events process as I received feedback that the event creation was too difficult to navigate. As a result I combined all tasks relating to the event creation process on one screen.

Including a staff portal was vital for this event system to work. We included real time applications and staff profiles to work with on the system.

This reduced emails and phone calls being sent from staff to admin and overall reduced frustrated communication by almost 80% and kept all queries in the same place.
