LAUNCHING A CONTENT BRAND FOR A TRADING PLATFORM. We were tasked with conceptualising and launching a new media brand to complement CMC Markets’ trading platform. We developed the name and identity for Opto, a publication for traders that covers the latest developments in the markets and in-depth, analytical reports on big-name stocks and trending industries. Working with CMC we developed a content strategy comprising of four key pillars: online news and analysis on the Opto website; an email newsletter, published three times a week; a quarterly print magazine; and a series of ebooks. We handle all aspects of content production, from conceptualising and writing to editing and design. Overall, the aim is to drive traffic to the Opto website via search-optimised market news and capture reader data via newsletter sign-ups and ebook downloads, to ultimately encourage readers to sign up to trading accounts on the CMC platform. We’ve had consistent success with ranking in Google’s “Top Stories” bar and subscriber numbers for the content have grown more than 700% since we launched the project.
