Coastal Sounds - New Organ Music from Mayo

Inspired by the natural beauty of the West of Ireland and the Wild Atlantic Way, this new album features new organ music from County Mayo: Coastal Sounds - a set of six improvisations by Michael Quinn, and 'Episodes for Organ' by Anthony O'Brien. The album was recorded on the pipe organ of St Patrick's Church, Newport, Co. Mayo, and explores the character and colours of this fine instrument which dates from 1917. The recording took place on site, with sound engineer Bart de Boer from Clew Bay Records, Westport, and was support by Mayo County Council's Arts Office.
