Commemorating Unseen Stories in Hackney (closed workshop)

  • Maria Herrero Tejada

Produced and curated in response to Peer’s current exhibition by artist Onyeka Igwe, history is a living weapon in yr hand, students from the MA Curating and Collections at Chelsea College of Art, University of the Arts London, celebrate the untold stories of residents in Hackney. In a small and intimate gathering inspired by Onyeka Igwe’s exhibition, the workshop invites a group of Hackney Circle members, elderly residents from the borough, to share their stories and histories through the creation of heritage plaque designs. The group will be memorialising those most important to them and the wider communities of Hackney. This event is made possible through a partnership between Peer and MA Curating and Collections at Chelsea College of Arts, University of the Arts London.
