Cork Up

Fellow graduate Jemima Stevenson and I took a stance against a recycling company. We both believe you should never be charged a fee to recycle and we want transparency on what actually happens to the items we recycle. Cork is one of the most sustainable natural materials on earth and can be recycled an infinite number of times. However many councils do not provide facilities to recycle cork with household recycling. We have come up with a system that allows users to track and trace their donated corks the entire way through the upcycling process, we never charge a fee and donate cork products to charity.

When a users searches their batch of corks on our app or website one of these animations will play depending on where their corks are in our system.
Cork Up Website
Users will be able to purchase upcycled cork products on our website. The batch of corks gone into making each product are displayed. In effect users can buy back the very corks they donated.
This project was completed entirely remotely using Microsoft Teams during Covid-19.
