'Creating Joy' is a project based on the fashion trend 'Dopamine Dressing', more specifically the sub-trend 'Creating Confidence'. Dopamine Dressing suggests that the clothes that we wear can influence our mood, therefore we can use this to our advantage to ' create' a better mood, or 'create' confidence. This project is very personal to me, as confidence is something I've always struggled with, but the idea that confidence isn't necessarily something you 'just have' but rather something you can fabricate by using colour and fabric theory. I took further inspiration from children's toys and the nostalgia around them. My trip to 'GlowBalls' in Brighton, Uk also influenced this project, since I was mesmerised by the glowing attractions, and decided to use fluorescent and glow in the dark threads for my samples and final pieces. All embroidered work glows when enhanced with a UV light. A collection made using: - Embroidery - Digital Print - Devoré - Digital Weaving - Knit
