Isabella Fowden Dazed 100 submission! My work is about closeness to the people I photograph. I think a connection between the photographer and subject, however brief, is essential to an image. My documentary photography largely consists of mundane scenes and "observations". This year I created and published a photobook, "Beach Pigeons" which is a collection of these mundane scenes, taken between 2019 and 2023. It includes scenes from everyday life - from siblings cutting their nails, to strangers hanging laundry. Some of these images are included in this post. "Goths at Home" is another project from this year, which I created for Dazed. It also includes documentary style portraits, which came from much briefer encounters, and therefore are quite different from my usual family-orientated work. Thank you! More work on instagram @isabellasarchive or on isabellasarchive.com #dazed100 Ps. I've also included a portrait I took of Wolfgang Tillmans earlier this year, which I still can't believe happened!
