A case Study to find a better solution for newbies to the NFT space on how to onboard and explain the complicated steps to getting started as a user...
Problem Statement
NFT’s are all the hype at the moment, but there are limited platforms that cater to non-crypto savy users who are less familiar how to purchase an NFT without the jargon and long process of setup.
WTF is an NFT?
Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT) are interchangeable digital assets traded over the internet. NFTs are generated and traded in cryptocurrency which is digital cash with an encrypted key often in the form of a random string of numbers. NFTs are popular today because they offer a unique marketplace for digital assets with even companies creating their own NFTs as part of their marketing mix.
Chosen Direction...
From the User Research, I collected many great pain points that could be implemented into my app. The focus will be on creating a simple step by step experience where the user is guided through the essentials of getting setup, like a Wallet for example.
Competitive Analysis
I reviewed other NFT platform apps to gauge a better understanding in the current market. Comparing the various Apps let me identify any challenges and gaps that could be used to improve the iteration of the App.
User Flow Diagram
I developed the following user flow with the data collected from my research.
This wireframe represents the typical flow of an average NFT platform. Where the help was always hidden away in the menu, So I would want to bring this to the forefront and use it to help the beginner users.
Low-Fidelity Wireframes
To flesh out the flow of the app, I started to wireframe some key low fi layouts to get a first look and feel to see if the function and usability is user friendly and clean.
High-Fidelity Wireframes
After a few iterations of the wireframes, the next step was to add some real content and to bring the whole design to life. The purpose of this stage was to get close to how the user would experience the final app in a working and visual manner.
Key Components
Key components used throughout the screens, so could be re-used again across the whole app.
Functional Prototype
See below to interact & test yourself if I truly resolved the users initial pain points.
