The dō collection establishes a parallelism between the learning process of a Taekwondo practitioner, which begins with the white belt and culminates with the black belt, and the process of learning and perfecting as a designer, in which I find myself immersed, admiring Yohji Yamamoto as a master. To illustrate this path, the collection is inspired by the evolution of light during the different phases of a total solar eclipse. During the advance of the eclipse, the light diminishes and the shadows sharpen, allowing to see what was previously imperceptible. Throughout the dō collection, white gives way to black, and the simple and timid silhouettes give way to experimentation and the loss of fear, culminating in a pure minimalism.
