103,000. That’s how many young people find themselves homeless every year. Confronting this astonishing figure is End Youth Homelessness, a national network of local charities that have joined forces to tackle youth homelessness together. In fact, before EYH was established, there was no UK-wide organisation helping homeless young people, instead just a disparate array of local groups. Today EYH raises awareness of just how many young people find themselves without a safe place to live, and raises funds to help its member organisations increase their capacity, services and sustainability in challenging times. It operates in four main areas – housing, health, work and prevention – to support young people in their short-term need for shelter, but also address the barriers that may prevent them from accessing education, training and employment. WHAT WE DO FOR END YOUTH HOMELESSNESS Homelessness is an issue close to our hearts here at Zetteler, what with our work for Hackney Night Shelter and Restoration Station. We’re thrilled to be helping End Youth Homelessness with its marketing and PR strategy. Rather than running the charity’s activity for them, we’re embarking on a programme of monthly guidance sessions to train the EYH team up to create impactful campaigns that speak from the heart. eyh.org.uk
