At the age of 18, I began a campaign to lobby MPs to opt in to the EU trafficking directive. The campaign was successful and the government opted in as a result of lobbying my local MP at the time, Hazel Blears. £2million per year was dedicated to the shelter and rehabilitation of victims of trafficking in the UK.
