Fluid Fusion

  • Katie Buckland
With the dominating presence of technology and a utopian vision of the modern world, we are often reluctant to consider the impact that our obsession with the future may have on the present. The overly minimal environments that we inhabit have begun to evoke feelings of sensory deprivation and a nostalgia for nature. Fluid Fusion draws inspiration from a summer spent in Amsterdam with the canals, bicycles and overall sense of rurality entwining itself within the typical city atmosphere. As harmony is found between these juxtapositions, natural forms combine with engineered aesthetics to ensure physical interaction reclaims its place within a virtual world. Three dimensional structures and experiments with light, water and movement create surfaces that excite the senses and entice tactile engagement.
