Glitched Glimpse

GLITCHED GLIMPSE | An exploration of Modernist Architecture investigating the visual Glitch within city skylines.  My concept has sparked from my interest of contemporary architecture and fascination with technology advances. I intend to focus on both refraction and reflection of architectural structures with emphasis on perspective and transformability of shape, line and colour. Digital media such as Photography and Cad manipulations will centre my project experimentation and inform my final design direction, taking inspiration from the visual qualities within my city surroundings. I aim to create a high end interchangeable knitted collection for Menswear AW 19/20, that replicates my transformable photography arrangements and versatile design aesthetic. A diverse mix of techniques; comprising of digital and hand methods such as Knitting on the dubied hand-flat, Macramé and Shima Seiki, will allow me to incorporate a vast array of geometric structures, taking influence from the maintained abstract and graphic design style shown throughout my visual research. Through thoughtful consideration of the impacts the fashion industry has on the environment, Glitched Glimpse aims to offer detachable part garment statements that are  aesthetically pleasing, and a sustainable way of thinking. Made from 100% merino wools, luxury mercerised cottons and multi-functional para cording, the collection will take an adaptable approach, alternating between fashion statement and a functionality. Its Connecting eyelet, buckles and macramé accessories promotes customisation, prolonging product lifecycle and reducing textile waste.
