A 30s TV spot to promote Healthspan's vitamins.

Job, Joris & Marieke worked with Isobel agency to create a 30s TV spot to promote Healthspan’s vitamins, creating a campaign that sat outside typical vitamin/healthcare ads featuring a silver-haired man in his 50s with a beautiful wife, living a ‘stock image lifestyle’.
The end credits of ‘Despicable Me’ featuring the Minions inspired the idea but with witty, clever, subtle facial expressions, geared to adults, ensuring that the ad didn’t apply to children but instead had a mature wit about it.
The main message that had to be clear in the 30s spot, was the provenance of where the vitamins are sourced – that Healthspan go to the ends of the earth for their high-quality ingredients, and that not all vitamins are created with equal quality ingredients.
“It was fun to use our typical animation skills for this short and quirky commercial about three supplement pills. It was quite a challenge to give two of the pills this realistic oily texture. But working closely together with Isobel’s creatives we gave the characters their definite look.” – JJ&M
The most important thing was to breathe life into something simple through the characterisation (a skill JJ&M are particularly adept to) humanizing these little pills. A minimalistic background was created so as not to distract from the characters and for it to live across TV, web, print and social media platforms.
