"[I]nquiry" was a dance performance piece staged at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History in April 2019, as part of the ACC Smithsonian Creativity and Innovation Festival. This piece prompted a dialogue about the representation and projection of the curated self in modern digital culture through the use of movement, projected digital imagery, and sound. Each costume piece was custom selected to best suit the dancer’s personal identities and characteristics. Maelisa Singer served as the head costume designer for the staging of this particular performance. It was a multidisciplinary collaboration between various professionals, including the choreographer Kim Brook Mata and the digital media designer Mona Kasra. (Photos by Stuart Mauck.)
