Innocence vs Knowing
“The tree in the Garden of Eden, bearing the fruit that Adam and Eve ate thus incurring the loss of primal innocence”; Genesis 2:9 – 3:2-7”
This original collection has the main focus on the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, as depicted in the book of Genesis. This image has clear, historic, spiritual and cultural connotations and this has been reflected in my work from being rich in imagery, colour and depth I have aimed to demonstrate my specialized textile techniques alongside a developed historical and cultural knowledge linking to my theme of; “Innocence vs Knowing: The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil”. Lucas Cranach’s oil painting of “Adam and Eve”, viewed in the Courtauld Gallery in London, is my inspiration. My end fashion samples have a high level of originality.
