INSIDE OUTSIDE

Our faith in newspapers as objective mediums is intrinsic. These newspapers construct their own translation of the images within them and their subsequent titles ‘inside’ and ‘outside.’
At a top level, this project enquires into the dynamics of relationships; both the subjects and the one that they have with myself as the photographer. Intimacy, observation, voyeurism and the expectations of love, sit alongside the privileged moments that are more often reserved for the couples themselves.
I utilise my agency, I ask, I enquire. I am aware of the realities of the images which are otherwise not immediately manifested. Emotionally, physically and further skewed by the semantics of the newspaper medium, purposefully chosen, consciously provocative.
How can I change things as a photographer? How can I communicate ideas or concepts, and what right do I have to use those to encourage enquiry into ones own personal experiences? What is your experience?
