Invisible (B)orders

Film & Installation piece My MA research focused on the predicament of the Northern-Irish border. Set to leave the European Union, I questioned the necessity of a ‘Smart Border’ system – one of the proposed solutions for the border. I engaged with this system using a bicycle-based Border Patrol. The patrol mimicked a variety of ‘Smart Border’ technologies. I traversed the Northern-Irish border and attempted to better understand the border, the proposed technologies for it and what that will mean for those that live and work there.
