African designs and pattern in furniture and clothing are being adapted in many parts of the world Which has been witnessed by many. It began with the gradual transition from generation to generation -led design practice, where all design conceptualisation, alternative strategies, design decisions, material selection, making and evaluation, etc., rested in the minds of the craft-designers, to the realisation that design can have an impact on economic performance.
KAMBA is about integrating old artisanal process into contemporary design products to extend these craft traditions into the future, while also building a bridge from these world hand factories to international distribution. It comes together with crafts man ship inspired by Kenyan culture and tradition. This product would be made according to specific orders online with colour choices and design patterns. It would be then exported from Kenya to buyers who prefer this connection in their homes.
