We were asked by our friends at Nike Basketball to create a short film for the release of the new Kobe Bryant XI sneaker. This film is to be shown in the window of all their retail stores and on all Nike websites. Initially the format for the film was in a triangular format for their custom window display which was then re-versioned in other formats for in-store & online. The idea for the film is that it highlights the 4 innovative technologies existing within the shoe, Free, Flynit, Lunar & Zoom. We chose to represent these by creating 3D animated sections that show what these technologies do when the shoe is in motion – mimicking the action of Kobe in the preceding action shots. We then manipulated and treated the footage of Kobe in action so that the whole film had a cohesive look.
