Lattis

  • Kieran Clayton
The shortage in natural resources and landfill capacity is an ever-increasing key issue for designers, as raw material waste from initial manufacturing is still a major issue within the furniture industry. Lattis explores material efficiency with modern furniture design by combining an innovative and sustainable hardwood framework table top with aluminium components, to reduce material usage and weight. This new ‘surface’ approach acts a multi-functional platform for plug-in accessories and allows the tables to nest together - combining playful and contemporary alongside function and flexibility. The largest table in the lattis collection weighs only 2 kg, this is approximately 65% lighter than a traditional table improving movability and assembly for the user. As well as lightweight they have been designed with easy assembly in mind and are a flexible solution for a wide variety of locations.
