MAKE IT MOBILE FRIENDLY

The people behind Make it Mobile friendly approached initially for a video with live footage. After looking closely at what they wanted to communicate, we both agreed that an “explainer video” was the way to go. The product was nearly finished so they needed a video to launch their website, they had the script ready.
I first gathered a lot of references to pitch the video and gave them an idea of what the finished video will look like. In the meantime a detailed storyboard was made to illustrate the script.
After long discussion, we opted for a specific graphic approach. Since the video was focused on the concept around the services they offer, I told them that we need to keep the video simple. A minimalist approach, with few colors and solids, will serve the script better. We agreed on the whole “blueprint” theme and started production.
I designed all the shots on Photoshop in several layers and imported everything into After Effect for the animation. The compositing was done quickly and smoothly, which gave me plenty of time to experiment with After Effect Plugins. I used Trapcode particular and foam on specific shot to add more depth to the shots and give them a organic feel.
Thanks to a good preparation and execution the first version of the video was accepted with minor tweaks. The video was then implemented on the landing page of the website: makeitmobilefriendly.co.uk Working on that project made me aware of the amount of preparation that can be done before going into production. I learned on that project how to think conceptually a video, how to come up with a graphic solution that will suit the product and deliver the right message.
