Memory of Place, Place of Memory

  • Regan Weber
Our memories are tied to places.
To encounter space attaches a memory of it in one's mind.
These memories keep place alive and significant even in small ways.
This project is a space of collective memory about individual spaces, so that one can recollect and share the visualiztion of space.
The memories are written on handprinted 'wallpaper' suggesting the choices we have in forming spaces. Just in an old house with layers and layers of wallpaper, one can think of the people, memories, and spaces that had once existed in the place they stand. Similiarily, people writing a memory and attaching it to the wall can see the memories and choices of those that came before them.
