Notes on Dynamic Interventions

How can designers, writers, artists, developers and publishers intervene in the public debate and counter misinformation in a relevant manner? This was the question explored at the Urgent Publishing conference held in the Netherlands on 15-17th May, 2019. Notes on Dynamic Interventions is a self-initiated publication written and designed in collaboration with Bruna Osthoff. As MA Graphic Media Design students we were drawn to investigate the pressing questions within the contemporary publishing scene. And during the conference we realised this international discussion should be brought to the fellow postgraduates of London College of Communication. By sharing insights and raising further questions on how to navigate between slow academia and populist media, we aimed to encourage emerging critical designers to reflect on and discuss their personal design practice.
