Palimpsest

Taking inspiration from a palimpsest and harnessing the friable nature of plaster the narrative continues to the wearer. Wear and tear given to the piece is celebrated, unleashing concealed details.
“A manuscript or piece of writing material on which later writing has been superimposed on effaced earlier writing.”
Illustrative inky shells hold, store, and destroy. Stored in both time based media; animation and motionless objects. The solidification that drawing implies is challenged through the fragile nature of the forms; just like recollections these objects can fragment and fade.
