Photographic Museum of Humanity: Exhibitions

  • Matt West
After the successful launch of the Photographic Museum of Humanity website No Divide was commissioned to design and implement a new section of the website to showcase exhibitions.
Following in the footsteps of creative director Dan Edwards, I designed the main exhibition and gallery pages for the project.

Exhibition

Each PHmuseum exhibition consists of a number of individual galleries featuring the work of a single photographer. The goal of the exhibition page is to showcase each of these galleries and introduce the theme of the exhibition.

Gallery

For the gallery pages I wanted to create an experience that immerses the viewer in the photography. To achieve this I designed a full-screen gallery that showcases each image in its full glory.
The gallery controls were designed to be minimal, and captions were hidden by default so as not to distract from the photographs.
Subtle animations help to smooth out the transition between photographs as the viewer scrolls down the page.
