Four years ago I have in enrolled in courses some printmaking courses at Parsons The New School for Design. During this time I was guided by really experienced printmakers as Michael Kirk, Martin Mazorra, Katarzyna Gruda and also the head of the department at time, Julia Gorton, an extremely talented photographer/artist from New York. Also in 2015 I have been granted an internship opportunity at a local printshop in Brooklyn, NY - Drive By Press, mainly focused in Woodcuts. And during three months I have worked full time as an assistant printmaker to Greg Nanney. This period lit a flame of a constant search for more knowledge and skill on printmaking and print techniques in general. Even though nowadays I work mostly for the design and advertisement industries, with a focus on digital products I always invest time in printmaking as a constant hustle/hobby. I strongly believe that the experience of illustrating for printmaking, typesetting on letterpress beds and aspects of manual composition in general really help in the process of composing digitally. You end up with skills and attention points that come from traditional graphic processes compositions.
