Reciprocal

Reciprocal is a live performance using a cello and live electronics to create a singular augmented instrument in sensory immersion. Working with cellist Ruby Moore, we created an intensive and fierce experience that accentuates the gesture and motion of sound. The synthesis of movement and expression are key parts to experiencing a cello player performing. The bow of a cellist is an extension of their arm, it is what brings their intertwined self to life. By using a microcontroller that tracks movement attached to Ruby’s arm we were able to amalgamate this movement with the cello with far greater intensity.
