SS20 Photographers Studio Window

  • Annie James

Location: The Conran Shop, Chelsea Date: 20th January 2020 Our Chelsea store unveiled its new window display, which offers the unique experience of stepping inside the photographer's working studio, a dynamic and compelling behind the scenes look into the world of design and image making. Featuring a large infinity curve, as seen in most photography studios, the floor is a large blank canvas with no corners or shadows, highlighting the new season products magnificently. The infinity curve was custom-made from fibre glass, taking a week to install. Products were carefully considered, and styled as would be seen inside a working studio, ready to be shot and edited. Amongst the lighting equipment, a humorous Conran coffee cup can be seen, a perfect finishing touch!

The main photography table featured a strong wooden narrative, styled on black matt paper; again, emulating a shoot setup. This cohesive story was carried through onto the walls of the ledge, highlighted by black masking tape, producing a bold and graphic aesthetic with strong Conran identity.
Once we received the outdoor product range, we updated the window and launched Spring Summer Outdoor. The new range embraced Conran’s own Outdoor Bistro Table, Directors Chair and Prop Chair, alongside Adico’s Folding Bistro Table and Chairs. Styling included bright pops of yellow, oranges and blues for a Mediterranean feel, showcasing outdoor dining, tableware, serve-ware and glassware. To push the graphic aesthetic from a street-point-of-view, we hung extra product to the walls, considering scale and composition whilst doing so.
