Tactile Unities

Through this collection I aim to explore the different leather qualities and textures. Experimenting with the thickness and finishing of each leather I discovered the volume and shapes that the leather allows me to create.
The inspiration behind the collections is the materials. I wanted to use a material as a guide for the final outcome. Using different leathers gives the bags a very tactile quality which exemplify each of the materials traits. Another starting point was the minimal aesthetic I wanted to achieve in order to let the materials and their surfaces be the focal point of the pieces.
Color also played a crucial role in the development of this collection. By using tones of grey which have a steadying effect on other colors and illuminating the softer colors I wanted to create a feeling of pureness and softness. Off whites helped set a relaxed tone of understated elegance and light browns relate to down-to-earth feelings signifying stability, structure and support which are all elements I hoped to capture in the pieces.
