Text-ile

  • Usua Perez Echegoyen
Books are deconstructed and then reconstructed through weaving to form a piece of clothing. The printed words are interwoven to form an object like they formed the text inside the covers, weaving the meaning back together. The process is unique and personal since not everyone feels that the same object is latent within the book. Every single piece presents the story of the book it was made from. This is to show that there is a background to each object among us, written in its fabric. The weaving matches the object that is being made; inspired in the fabric that originally makes it. The objects come to life through the words. The text becomes textile pieces.
