The Black Dog is an exhibition of creative and design work by students from UWTSD’s Swansea College of Art about mental health awareness. This was a competition set by the University in order to create the posters for the event I won the competition and the posters were displayed throuhgout the university leading up to the event.
The idea Research was vital for this project in order to create a true representation of the statistics of mental health awareness. 1 in 4 people are affected by mental health illnesses in the UK. There are 972 students within Swansea College of Art this means that 243 people potentially could be affected by mental health issues and illnesses. There are 972 spikes within the design all together and 243 of the spikes are in green to represent how many people could be affected by mental health illnesses.
