The brief: Change the perception of black cabs in London. Make city workers think twice before opening their Uber app. Student project, Shillington The idea: Hackney Carriages are London. They’ve lived through World Wars, Royal Weddings, Protests, Terrorist attacks, Brexit, Coronations - and they’ve seen break-ups, make-ups, runners and celebs. This is an unedited collection of stories as told by taxi drivers, spanning hundreds of years. I developed a typeface based on Charles Booth's chart of London classes from the 1800s and created illustrations of famous London landmarks to accompany the stories told.
