I was one of the event producers and I also managed the project. We organised an independent music event in the spring of 2018 at the Brixton Jamm in South London. The event focused on providing opportunities for up-and-coming artists from the urban pop/RnB scene in London to perform in front of a new audience as well as providing benefit to other creatives such as photographer, videographer, DJs, musicians and event producers. The event was successfully delivered thanks to the help of Wired4Music after a successful project pitch in a Dragon Den's style. Upon awarding of the funds, mysel as well as my business partner recruited a team of people, who assisted us in delivering the event by performing activities such as social media marketing, marketing and promotion, artist liaison and event management. I held regular meetings with them and checked in on their progress, provided and requested feedback. Moreover, I handled the administration of the event by communicating with our sponsors, event representatives, creative collaborators (photographer, DJs, musicians, and artists), invoicing, creating the tech rider for the venue technicians. I was involved in the production of promotional materials such as the poster and flyers. The project involved working under tight deadlines and pressure, especially during the event day, when I liaised with our event manager on ensuring we were running according to our schedule. On a more creative side, I was responsible for directing one of the bands by creating the live arrangements and producing the stems for the drummer. We received the support of the UWL SU as well las The MNGR magazine.
