Makerversity started as a disused and derelict 3000 square meter space in the lower floors of Somerset House, an iconic 300 year old cultural centre and former palace on the banks of the river Thames. By early 2014 after 9 months of hard work and industrial quantities of paint, we had transformed the space into a vibrant creative home for over 60 businesses. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to a lot of people (not least our mums and dads) who helped us early on when we were big ideas, big mouths and with a big task on our hands.
