The Workshop | Mitry-Mory

In 2016, Carpenters Workshop Gallery opened a unique production facility in Mitry Mory, as a dedicated space for elite artisans to support its artists. The 8,000 square metre workshop is located just outside Paris, and provides designers, mechanics and craftspeople with an unparalleled opportunity to experiment with new materials and processes. The artisans are skilled across all disciplines. From masters of wax and metal casting to woodwork, patination and upholstery, their expert knowledge supports the diverse artistic output from the Mitry Mory workshop. Emphasis is placed on training young artisans in these disciplines, to pass down generational knowledge and preserve the ancient traditions of these crafts. The workshop also makes for a vast exhibition space, and hosted the 2016 exhibition 10 Years of Collectible Design, a highlight reel of masterpieces from each of Carpenters’ artists.
