Thesis Case Study: Coronavirus Guidelines - A Successful Design Communication Tool or Unnecessary Static Noise?

  • Dorin Seremet

The process of my study was to identify an area or question I am investigating as a Designer and interrogate these to develop a methodology that would allow me to activate methods and processes within typography, image-making, visual language, and communication to discover new ways of engaging with areas of concern/challenge/fascination. Going through a global pandemic and experiencing changes on the national and local level at that particular time, I have noticed a change in human behaviour when it came to the interaction with its environment. I became extremely curious about how the government's guidelines were affecting our actions and decisions in public. Through my research, I was documenting the interaction, changes of individuals and the public, and applied different visual design experiments based on the feedback I was receiving from people and my own practice. The final result is a visual representation of the social and psychological perspective of people in regards to the effectiveness of the guidelines.
