TRAP*

  • Calvin Adisa

TRAP* is an experimental micro short film, which follows a heart-to-heart phone conversation between two men who are trapped in a cycle of selling drugs and hustling to survive, unable to break free and create better lives for themselves. One desired to leave and make a better life for himself, while the other desire to remain as the street life is all he knows. The clouds served as symbolism for how the world still goes on, while those who are trapped in a labyrinth of poverty and drugs struggle to keep pace with the rest of society. The phrase "Poverty is genocide in slow motion" served as the inspiration for my first short film. Concept, Directed, Shot, Edited, VFX & Grade by me. Dialogue from CHARLES STONE's 2002 film "PAID IN FULL" Music by MICHAEL VIGNOLA (Follow Me Nowhere) Shot on Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K (BMPCC 4K), paired with Meike 16mm T2.2 and DJI RS 2 Gimbal.
