Try Your Luck

This project was initially inspired by Las Vegas. Mainly looking at the oversized idiosyncratic signage, elements of gambling and the various visual representations of luck. I was then interested in the location of Las Vegas – the middle of the desert and how this acts as a juxtaposition against the buzz of the city. This was shown within my work subtly through occasional absence of space and the odd quirky cactus or western reference. I wanted to take all these elements and translate them into fashion textiles pieces using embroidery and embellishments in a contemporary way.
