TukAid

Over half the world population does not have access to essential health services with the lack of emergency medical vehicles, due to their high costs and inaccessibility, being a leading problem. In developing countries, humanitarian organisations are presented with a huge challenge in transporting patients to medical sites. TukAid’s mission is to provide humanitarian organisations with the ambulance they need to support their medical aid efforts. Therefore, TukAid has designed a conversion kit which can transform a TukTuk into an emergency medical care vehicle. The kit includes an advanced conversion guide, medical and technical equipment needed for emergency response and medical treatment. It additionally contains a custom designed stretcher that is manually adjustable with ergonomic handles for transportation over longer distances with the ability to retract for simple loading via the vehicle-mounted roll in system. Through numerous funding opportunities and having created three prototypes already, TukAid is currently finalising its minimal viable product (MVP) ready for the market and pilot testing.
