Under a microscope

  • Leanne Beardsmore

This project is a 4 outfit unisex collection. Conscious of the effect the fashion industry is having on the environment i decided to focus on sustainability. I started by looking at how we value things in the way we treat them. This resulted in my collection being minimalistic through colour and silhouette based off a minimalist lifestyle. There is a sense of japanese fashion, Japan being the origin of minimalism. The silhouettes are oversized and provide comfort. The adjustable nature of the clothes allows for fit on a man and woman and is what ties in the japanese style of the collection. The clothes are made out of a combination of charity clothes and deadstock fabrics to show the value in what some people might discard as useless.
