Under My Skin

  • Tina Rashidi

This film tells the story of a woman becoming agitated by strange sounds only to find that they are emanating from inside her own body—her heart, her lungs, the very movement of her eyes in their sockets. She attempts to look for the silence she has lost, within the space of her bedroom, however, the quieter the room, the more things she can hear. Superior canal dehiscence syndrome (SCDS) is a disorder caused by a small hole in the inner ear that enables every sound within the body to be amplified. The fluid inside the canal carries sounds from the body into the hearing chamber.
