Fifty Shades of White: Exploring the Normalisation of Whiteness in Popular Hollywood Films
My final-year dissertation was based around the concept of 'whitewashing', and received a first-class grade. This project explored the dominance of whiteness in popular cinema, and the under/mis-representation of non-white actors and characters in both the past and the present.
